Omega Productions shoots DVD for acclaimed rock group Clatter

Paul Christensen and his wife Donna Christensen and their award winning Omega Productions crew were recently hired by Nashville based POST DIGITAL, Inc. to produce a live concert shoot featuring the rock group Clatterwww.clatter.com, recognized by music critics from Seattle to Tampa and Louisville to St. Louis as one of the best emerging bands in the US. The DVD project,AMY ON BASS AND MORE...titled, “Blinded in Boonville,” and featuring husband and wife team, Joe Hayes (drums), and Amy Humphrey (bass & vocals), was staged in historic Thespian Hall, originally built circa 1855-1857, the oldest theater still in use west of the Alleghenies. After the release of their critically acclaimed Chicken House Records CD “Blinded By Vision,” and some 50,000 touring miles later, it was only fitting that Clatter return home for a concert in their hometown of Boonville, Missouri, at theSTAG AWASH IN COLORS... gilded pre-vaudville era structure. The evening’s festivities juxtaposed the intensities of high tech rock against historic rural mid-America sensibilities, providing a rich tapestry of color and visual excitement for the enthusiastic home town crowd as well as the cameras. The concert footage will be combined with behind the scenes clips of Clatter’s alter ego, Joe and Amy’s home base, a 125 acre farm where the couple has transformed the land into a virtual mecca for wildlife.

Among one of many accolades from music critics, Amplifier Magazine recently wrote, “Clatter eliminates guitar clutter altogether with a lineup consisting solely HISTORIC THESPIAN HALL...of bassist Amy Humphrey and drummer Joe Hayes. Employing a myriad of mind-altering effects most closely associated with the various permutations of very heavy metal (distortion , flange,THE CLATTER CAM... delay) Humphrey emerges as polyrhythmic pyrotechnic by slapping, riffing and soloing in the grand tradition of Larry Graham (Sly & the Family Stone), Les Claypool (Primus) and Geezer Butler (Black Sabbath). Hayes is no slouch either, gamely grooving with tasty fills and inventive call-and-response phrasing… this is a fine audio library for aspiring hard-rock bassists and prog aficionados.”

The Video and DVD project was produced by Perry Trest, owner of POST DIGITAL, Nashville, who is well known for his work with Shania TwainJackyl, the John Entwistle BandNFL Films, and Dolly PartonPaul and Donna Christensen servedJOE AT WORK... as Television and Live Event Producers bringing in their award winning team of shooters, including Director Don MooreRuthel Flunder assisted the Christensens with talent and logistics. And who could forget the involvement of Maryellen McVicker, director of Thespian Hall and the Friends of Historic Boonville?
