Omega Productions consults on Christmas Music Special for 1st Baptist Church, Jackson, MS

Recently, Paul Christensen received a call from the First Baptist Church of Jackson, MS to assist them with consulting services regarding the live broadcast mix of a Christmas television special being shot at the church. The project this year was critical because a new work, Christ is Born, was being performed and shot for the first time featuring the church’s well respected Worship Choir and Orchestra with special guests Marquis Laughlin, Brian Keith Daniel, Ballet Magnificat!, and Leo Day.

For 46 years, First Baptist Jackson has offered the Christmas celebration, Carols by Candlelight, as a special gift to the citizens of Jackson and the surrounding area. This year’s edition of Carols by Candlelight was shared with over 15,000 people in 5 presentations. Each year the ensemble presents a different work, but this year’s project was especially exciting. An additional treat was the opportunity to work with longtime friends and associates Don Moore, who directed the special and Don Warren, who provided jib services for the project.

Through music and drama with a cast and crew of 400, Carols by Candlelight and this year’s work, Christ is Born, shares the Christmas story and the importance of experiencing the message of Christmas through the love of Christ. The concert was shot as well as streamed live and is available on Vimeo.
