Anchored by historic Navy Pier, the city of Chicago has one of the most attractive and vibrant waterfront areas in the world. Originally designed as a shipping and recreational facility in 1916, the area is currently serving as Chicago’s number one tourist destination for more than 8 million visitors annually. Navy Pier recently served as the setting for a unique concert event by one of gospel music’s most innovative artists.
The performance by Verity Records (Zomba) Artist, Fred 
Hammond and his award-winning group, Radical for Christ, featured an MTV style wraparound set and was held in Navy Pier’s magnificent Grand Ballroom. The massive round structure of 80-foot domed ceilings overlooking picturesque Lake Michigan was the perfect location for the recent live concert shoot by Paul Christensen and his wife Donna Christensen and Omega’s award-winning team of shooters.
The multilevel, intimate stage and performance area was designed by Hammond’s talented brother, Ray Hammond, who also served as Producer for the live event and Co-Produced the project with brother, Fred. Paul & Donna Christensen, assisted by Ruthel Flunder, produced the long-form video, which is slated for a DVD release.

Capturing the electrifying performance were Omega’s talented team of shooters lead by Director Don Moore, Project Video Engineer and Shader, Sel Warren, Hand Held Operator, Mike “Flip” Filippi, Steadicam Operator, David Owens, with Andrew Dean on Jimmy Jib, and Steve Cobb on Fixed Camera. Rounding out the crew were Fixed Camera Operator Adam Simpson and Dolly Camera Operator Russ Rodriguez. Face to Face Ministries‘ Kevin Wilson served as Assistant Director. Lamar Bloodworth, from Chicago based Film Gear, Inc., provided Dolly and Grip Services as well as serving as Dolly Grip.
Corplex TV, Chicago (Northfield), Illinois, provided mobile television facilities with their Digital Copper Truck through Alliance Productions, Little Rock. The final editing of the video will be handled by Perry Trest, Post Digital, Miami and Nashville, who has edited many of Omega’s projects of distinction.
Lighting facilities were provided by Odyssey Lighting, Grand Rapids, Michigan with Mark “Miyagi” Meana performing his usual magic as Lighting Director and Designer. Greg Snyder with Creative Audio, Ann Arbor, Michigan, supplied the sound reinforcement system and served as Monitor Engineer, in addition to assisting with the staging for the event. Recording the soundtrack for the video was Big Mo Recording, based in Silver Springs, Maryland, with Mo’s Chief Engineer, Greg Hartman at the controls. Assisting Hartman with audio recording were Bill Plummer and Chris DeMuynck. The soundtrack will be posted and mixed at the Face to Face Ministries studio complex in Southfield, Michigan.
The Chicago Navy Pier video will be released as a Verity Records DVD in support of Hammond’s latest chart topping CD, Speak Those Things, Pages of Life, Chapter III.
