Omega produces first DVD Music Video in the Black Gospel market
Omega Productions recently completed a long form video
project for Atlanta based AIR Gospel Records, featuring AIR's flagship artist, Dottie Peoples. The special became the first video in the Black Gospel music community, to be released on DVD, a format which is taking the
entertainment world by storm. In addition, the CD of the live sound track has consistently stayed in the top 15 on Billboard Magazine's Gospel charts.
One of Atlanta's largest and most successful churches, New Birth Missionary Baptist Church
, hosted the event, which was Executive Produced by AIR Gospel's owner and President, Alan Freeman. Paul and Donna Christensen produced the television special, with the assistance of their
award winning crew, Director Don Moore, Steadicam Operator Jerry Jacob, Video Engineer Sel Warren, Jib Operator Don Warren, Hand Held Cameraman Mike Filippi
and Fixed Camera Operator Steve Cobb. With the assistance of pioneering DVD author, Perry Trest, owner of Mississippi based Post Digital, Inc., the historic DVD release became a reality.
Anniston, Alabama based Harvest Media provided remote
facilities, while New Birth's David Overs designed the lighting for the evening. Sam's Tape Truck and Doppler Studios, Atlanta, recorded and mixed the sound track and CD,
engineered by Doppler's owner, Joe Neil. Sound Reinforcement services for the concert were furnished by In Concert Productions, Atlanta. Perry Trest, owner of Post Digital, Inc.,
Jackson, MS, edited the special and provided the DVD authoring.

Fred Hammond CD goes Gold and Platinum... Omega project garners awards
Billboard Magazine recently announced that the Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA®) has
awarded Fred Hammond's "Pages of Life I & II" CD, both a Gold and Platinum Record Award for sales in excess of one million units.
Part II of the record setting album, released last year, contained all of the songs that
became the sound track for Omega's Award winning Video, by the same name. Donna and Paul Christensen were hired by Hammond's Producer, Verity Records' Director of
Gospel, Paul Wright III, to produced the live shoot and recording, which took place at Detroit's historic Straight Gate Church. The sound track was recorded by Tim Powell, owner
of Chicago based Metro Mobile.
Omega's video release of "Pages of Life I & II" has been one of
the most successful projects on Billboard's Video Charts for 1998. The CD sound track was also nominated for a Grammy® in 1998. In the company's 27 year history, these honors
represent Omega's Sixth Platinum Record Award and Ninth Gold Record Award.
History comes alive with Hayride Reunion Special... 50th Anniversary Homecoming Shoot...
Donna and Paul Christensen just returned from shooting and
recording a new project that reflects the rich musical heritage of our country's recent past. The special, The Louisiana Hayride Homecoming Concert, celebrated the 50th
anniversary of the fabled concert series that provided so many famous country and blues artists with their shot at a music career between 1948 and 1960.
The homecoming, held in the original home of the Hayride, the recently restored Shreveport
Municipal Auditorium. featured performances by a number of artists who launched their careers there, including Willie Nelson, Merle Kilgore, Tillman Franks, Johnny Gimble, Leroy
Van Dyke and Maggie Lewis Warwick. In addition, there were appearances by Hank Williams' daughter, Jett Williams, celebrating her father's long association with the
Hayride, as well as Gold and Platinum Award winning artist and home town hero, Kenny Wayne Shepherd.
Alton and Maggie Warwick of Louisiana Hayride Company, LLC, served as Executive Producers. Maggie Warwick, also served
as the Show Producer. Paul and Donna Christensen produced the television special, as well as a live recording for local NPR affiliate, Red River Radio. Catherine Fraser, Executive Director
of Red River Radio, served as Producer for the Radio Program.
Omega brought in their award winning crew, Director Don Moore, Video Engineer Sel Warren, Steadicam Operator Jerry
Jacob, Hand Held Cameraman Mike Filippi, Jib Operator Don Warren, and Fixed Camera Operators, Steve Cobb and Robby Channell. Mobile Production Services, based in Columbus, OH
and Rock Hill, NC, provided remote video facilities, while Monroe, LA based Lighting Designer, Derrick Gentry and TMF Lighting, contracted the lighting and the look that made the
project such a success.
Mobile Audio Recording Services (MARS), Muscle Shoals, AL, recorded the sound track, supervised by MARS owner, Steve
Lowney. Sound Reinforcement services for the concert were furnished by Dallas Backup, Dallas, TX, under the supervision of Davis Chalmers.
The Live Radio Broadcast will be released on Red River Radio. The Video is slated for release later in 1999
Omega lands Gold and Platinum awards... WOW! Gospel 98 CD and Video is a winner!
Omega Productions had the pleasure of working on many award winning CD's and Videos in 1997. A compilation CD and
Video, containing many of the songs that Paul and Donna Christensen recorded and/or shot that year, received recent recognition by the Recording Industry Association of America® (RIAA®).
The compilation CD, titled WOW! Gospel 1998, was awarded both a Gold and Platinum Record
Award for sales over One Million copies. The project showcased 30 of gospel music's biggest names and hits. The Video companion piece to the WOW! Gospel 1998 CD, Titled WOW! Video 98, was also
awarded a Gold Video Award by the RIAA, and features 17 gospel artists performing their most recent hits.
Omega worked on the following tracks and video footage segments, which were part of the award winning CD and Video, "Jesus Is My Help", Hezekiah Walker, from the project, Live
In London, Verity Records; "Stir Up The Gift", Colorado Mass Choir from the project, Watch God Move, Verity Records; "Glad I Got Jesus", Canton Spirituals, from the project, Living The
Dream, Verity Records; "Mother Sherman's Story", Carlton Pearson, from the project, Live At Azusa 2, Warner Records; and "Jesus Paid It All", Rev. James Moore and the Mississippi
Mass Choir, from the project, See You In The Rapture, Malaco Records.
As the WOW! Partnership's designated charity recipient, a portion of the proceeds from the WOW! Gospel 1998 project
will be donated to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Non-Violent Social Change. From traditional to contemporary to urban, the WOW! Gospel 1998 releases display gospel music at its best!
In the company's 26 year history, these honors represent
Omega's Fifth Platinum Record Award, Eighth Gold Record Award and Eighth Gold Video Awards.
Shooting the new Miss Mass 10th Anniversary Special... 150 strong and then some...
Donna and Paul Christensen recently completed a new video project marking the 10th Anniversary of Malaco's flagship
ensemble, The Mississippi Mass Choir. The Television Concert Special, held at Thalia Mara Hall, Jackson, MS, featured the award winning choir, appearances by Doug and Melvin Williams,
brothers of revered Gospel Pioneer and Founder of the Choir, the late Frank Williams, as well as talented songwriter V. Michael McKay. Malaco's Director of Gospel, Jerry
Mannery served as Executive Producer,
Paul and Donna Christensen produced the television special, titled, "Emmanuel (God With Us)", with the assistance of their award
winning crew, Director Don Moore, AD and Steadicam Operator Jerry Jacob, Video Engineer Sel Warren, Jib Operator Don Warren, Fixed Camera Operator, Steve Cobb and Hand Held
Cameraman Mike Filippi. Anniston, AL based Harvest Media provided remote video facilities, while Jackson based Lighting Designer, C. B. "Brother" Carroll, designed the lighting for the
evening. In addition, Derrick Gentry, TMF Lighting, West Monroe, LA, provided Intelligent Lighting for the event.
Mobile Audio Recording Services (MARS), Muscle Shoals, AL, recorded the sound track, supervised by MARS Owner, Steve
Lowney. Overdubs and mixing will be done at Malaco's Jackson based Studio by Chief Engineer, Jerry Masters. Sound Reinforcement services for the concert were furnished by
Stage Light Sound and Lighting, Pelahatchie, MS, under the supervision of Geri O'Neil.
The Live CD and Video are slated for a June 1999 release. Omega Productions has had the privilege of working on every
project that the Award Winning Choir has done since it's founding in 1989.
